Soccer Extreme : With Javier Hernandez out of the contest, Dimitar Berbatov has been working with regular partner Rooney during the pre-season.
However, it is believed that Ferguson will partner Owen with Rooney for the clash and bring Berbatov off the bench.
Owen has been in good touch so far on the U.S. tour where he has scored twice.
The last time United played against Barcelona was in the Champions League at the end of last season and Owen was picked ahead of Berbatov in the squad, although he didn’t play.
Meanwhile, Nani is poised to start alongside Ashley Young on the flanks, as Ferguson look to build the right combination in his attack.
New signing David de Gea is expected to replace Anders Lindegaard in the goal after sitting out the victory over the MLS All-Stars earlier this week. (sportingalert)
